We always knew electric cars would be pricey, but we were slightly taken aback by the cost of the new Mitsubishi i-MiEV coming to the UK in January 2011: it's going to cost £38,699. The i-MiEV will be one of the first battery cars on sale here, as opposed to the small-scale lease projects such as the Mini E, and will arrive around the same time as the Nissan Leaf EV. Help is at hand to trim that £39k on-the-road price tag.
Car guy and all-around funnyman Jay Leno got his crack at the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG roadster in Affalterbach, Germany, and the results are up for viewing on Mercedes’ YouTube channel. Mazda's design and engineering team in Germany has taken the MX-5 roadster and boiled it down to its pure speedster form to create the Superlight concept. We'll get a close look at the car at the Frankfurt motor show. Some changes are obvious.
